| different trumpets for different nationalities

I am interested in finding out how you go about deciding what key of trumpet you would play for certain styles of music. More specifically, would you play a b flat trumpet on a large russian symphony such as rach 2 or would you stick with your C trumpet. I am trying them both but I have this inner battle of respecting the traditions of other countries when it comes to playing similar equipment. (i.e Viennese playing C rotarys and Germans playing b flat rotaries, north americans playing "Bach" C trumpets and so on....)
