Math measures the world; science explains the world; music reflects our world by combining the 2 (yes, and then some) in a meaningful and thoughtful way. There are mathematical relations all over the place in both art and nature. Just examine the theory of key signiatures or an overtone series. Study the way a galaxy is formed; or the way waves and hurricanes expand; or the relationship between your bellybutton and your nose or the growth of a conch shell...they are all similar.

I was never so fully aware of those relationships as when I began to really dig in and try to understand what a fibonacci series is. It's really quite amazing.
