Hmmm, it's not the one I'm looking for but I'm realizing now that you mention it that those four notes
do exist in that order in the midst of the slow 3/4 theme from Holst's Jupiter, don't they? Maybe not in the right key... I'm not sure. So I think we have to give you credit for that one.
However in the symphony I'm looking for, the theme consists soley of those 4 notes, in concert pitch, in that order (C-D-F-E). And this theme all over the place in one particular movement, not hidden or disguised in any way. someone's gotta get this soon.
