However, in your defense, "The Zax" happens to be in the same Dr. Suess book as the Sneetches. "Now, the Star-Bell Sneetches had bellies with stars. The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars."
There was a time when I had to read all four stories in the book for bedtime book time, night after night after night.
The Ship/lighthouse story has been around for quite some time in various forms, and usually it's to make fun of the skipper of a battleship.
