Jon Stewart is hosting, so I watched the opening monologue.....mind you, I NEVER EVER watch the Oscars. The opening short film was hilarious with Billy Crystal and Chris Rock sharing a tent on a spoof of "BBM". What made my jaw drop was when Jon pointed to Stephen Spielberg and said, "Schindler's List.....Munich.....I can't wait to see what's gonna happen to us (Jews) next." The other eye-popping "joke" was, "Walk The Line....which is Ray with white people". Hmmm......I wonder if ol' Jon is gonna catch some flack?
The other funny thing was a short spoof film they had of Tom Hanks giving pointers for acceptance speeches. The orchestra was giving the cue music to end the speech and Hanks kept on speaking. They made a bunch of folks with instruments (playing orchestra musicians) come up on stage and crowd around him. The tbone was poking him, a clarinetist shot a tranquilizer dart at his neck and a violinst finally broke her violin over his back. I thought it was hilarious because I didn't expect them to do anything recognizing the orchestra.

The real orchestra sounds good!
I will have it on in the background. I am anxious to see if Phillip Seymour Hoffman wins for "Capote". He is a great talent and did an incredible job.
UPDATE: Wooo Hooo! M'boy Seymour won! *Click* TV goes off now. LOL.
