Wilmer-

damn@$#@!!! That is great! Thank you for the link. I hadn't seen Booker on video before - he's one of my idols.

Booker Little is one of the greatest trumpet players in the history of jazz. It's a shame that his life was so short. He died at age 23. Even at his early age you can hear absolute control over the instrument. His tone would fit gracefully into an orchestral brass section, his improvisations contained concepts that were advanced for the time (late 50's), and his arrangements were stellar!

Here are some sides that are currently available on CD:

"Out Front" - Candid CCD79027
"New York Sessions" - Lionhilljazz LHJ10110
"Sounds of the Inner City" - Collectables COL-CD-6131 (some duplicate material)
"Booker Little" - Time jazz series, Bainbridge records BCD1041
"Booker Little and Friend" Bethlehem 20-40102
"Booker Little 4" Blue Note CDP 7 84457 2

Plus side work with Eric Dolphy, Max Roach and others...

If you don't know this guy's work, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Really.

Wilmer- do you have any more titles of his that are re-issued on CD? thanks.

cool.
-Kelly

(edit: OK, I'm still kind of new to this forum... I just did a search and found the Booker Little Recordings thread. whooops. thanks all for you patience w/ my posts. hehe.)
