Thank, KMT. I cannot say just how terribly sad I was when I saw. It's more than one of those "heart sank" moments. I was moved to tears. Puckett probably is and was my favorite ball player.

I grew up in the 80's a Twins fan. When Puck came up and started really hitting, his contagious smile and winning enthusiasm was the perfect compliment to a solid bat and golden glove. His style of play, I am quite positive, drew many young men like myself into a full-time love afair with baseball.

He made me love baseball, and made me proud to be a Twins fan. I'll always be fond of the memories he gave us.

A batting title.
A career 300+ average.
Hall of Fame.
Two world series titles.
countless gold gloves.
My favorite play from a center fielder -- the 8-2 assist, almost nightly.
Two of the best calls ever, both for the same player in the game:
"We'll see you tomorrow night!" -- Jack Buck, and
"Touch 'em all Kirby Puckett..." -- John Gordon.

Loved ya', Puck. Enjoy your eternal peace.

Z
