The thing I don't really get is why we still are reading parts written for instruments that haven't been around for 100 years....... like the big F trumpet or big D trumpet. Having clean and modern looking parts for
b flat (and C) would go a long way towards making orchestral brass playing more accessible to younger players who might be having a tough enough time playing as it is without the complication of transposition.
