| An amazing Day! Do you believe in Miracles?
7:30 AM - Doc goes in to find 100% blockage.
8:00 AM - Doc talks to Joni to tell her he chose to do no repair.
8:30 AM - I'm back in a room being told that I'll go home this afternoon.
9:00 AM - Joni comes in to explain what has happened, even though at that time the drugs were still doing their thing and I didn't understand a lot.
12:30 PM - They remove the sheath with no problems.
2:00 PM - I leave the hospital.
2:30 PM - I'm home trying to decide if I'm going to go to Heather's softball game at 5:30.
Doc found 100% blockage in the artery that he expected to find 80+% blockage, but he also found that my body is starting to produce numerous collateral arteries in several parts of my heart, and that blood is delayed, but is reaching all parts of my heart. No need to make repair to the arteries that are blocked because the heart is taking care of itself.
I do have another artery that is 50+% blocked, and it is in a very delicate location of the heart. Placing a stent there would compromise blood flow in other parts of the heart. Doc chose to leave it be for now and see what develops in the near future.
I'm absolutely dumbfounded as to the results they had today. I'm still concerned as to why restenosis continues in my arteries, but am also thankful that God has instructed my body to repair itself.
Folks, I have no reason other than the prayers that people send in my direction to explain what is happening. Am I still scared about the future? You bet I'm scared! Heather is only 11-years-old. I figure I need about 19 more years on this earth to see her graduate high school, graduate college, get married, and give me a grand child. I guess you see where my goals are in out living coronary artery disease.
God willing I'll be around for a while. I understand that my life will have certain limitations that normal people don't have, but when have I ever been normal?!?!
Thanks for all your prayers. Please keep them coming, and know that I will give thanks to God for all my friends everyday. They have worked miracles -- I have no other explanation for my results today!
Hugs to you all!
Carpe diem!!!
Dave
PS- Yes, they let me come home, but I have some very strict orders from Doc. No driving for 48 hours, not bending for 48 hours, no lifting for 48 hours, and a few other things that are on the not to do list for at least 48 hours. I’m not going to drive until Saturday, and I’m going to just chill out until Sunday night, returning to work Monday. I have great kids at school whom I’m sure will be there to help me carry things, or lift things, and I’m looking forward to being back with them next week!
