I'm absolutely sure that Gabriele isn't "lip-sync"ing. He's a marvelous player and plays the Sequenza with equal panache and fluidity.
Not to diminish this brilliant performance in any way but there are many others in Europe that can toss off the Brandenburg, as well as the other clarino literature, on the nat without tremendous effort. It's now well established in the Euro trumpet culture (indeed the piccolo trumpet, my old baby, is rarely played in performances of Baroque music anymore).
