I have raw brass and plated Monettes. I haven't found any difference in the horns. The only thing is that one looks new all the time and the other looks old.

My B flat is a plated 993 regular Monette and my C is a Prana One raw brass. Its hard to know the difference because they are in different keys. They both play so well.

Something else to consider is that we both are armature players, so while I can't tell the exact difference maybe a better player like Manny can. I would have to play both trumpets side by side in the same key to see if I could pick up on the difference.

If I were you I would go to the shop and play for them. It will be a small investment compared to the price of the trumpet and it will be the best trumpet lesson you ever had.
