Tom has retired from playing and I've almost done the same...don't hold your breath for either of us! Cassone's recording was made under the supervision of the composer. I have Hakan's (as well as the others you mention) but consider Gabri's to be urtext.
Start by disregarding all of the black notes and take small bites (no, even smaller -- one cell at a time). If you truly learn each cell before going on you'll probably end up memorizing the piece as you learn it, as Cassone did.
Honestly? The piece looks intimidating but, at the end of the day, isn't that hard if you have a fluid doodle, flutter, and double tongue.
