| Even if this ad was legit, I would never attempt to buy a Monette horn off E-Bay. Here's why:
Monette trumpets, especially the higer-end models, are very fragile and delicate. The slightest bump or ding can throw off the horn. IF the repair is done by anyone other than Monette, you stand a good chance of messing up the horn. I personally know of several instances where an unsuspecting person bought a Monette off E-Bay or one of these trumpet sites, got the horn, and found so-mething wrong with it (These were accomplished players used to Monette equipment). The horns were "repaired" by someone other than Monette, and cost these people a lot of money to have Monette repair and adjust them properly. The only way I would buy a horn like this is if the seller would send the horn to Monette (I would pay the shipping). If Monette checks the horn and finds it to be up to his standards, only then would I send the person the money for the horn.
Otherwise, no deal. |
