On the 50th anniversary of the Dizzy/Parker/Mingus/Monk famous Massey Hall concert, they did a big tribute with Roy Hardgrove and a bunch of other guys whose names I can't remember. Max Roach was there and did Mr. Hi-Hat for the audience!
Dear Brekelefuw:
Thanks for the info.
Great to hear that Max is still swinging. I knew Max from the early 60's and during the early 90's he appeared on TV pleading for the support of funding for the ARTS which was threatened to be cut/abolished by Jesse Helms,
Senator of North Carolina.
Max and lovers of music lost the good fight, and Jesse's action gave us rappers and cats who spin a turntable in a childlike manner that is today call musicians.

A year or two ago,Herbie and his semi-electric quartet were in Pittsburgh,Pa where Michael Brecker played an electronic musical instrument while Roy Hargrove and Terri Carrington (female drummer) were un-plugged.
Like the bag pipe, after two tunes (Amazing Grace & Scotland The Brave)
I've had an earfull.
Keep us posted prior to your appearance on center stage at Massey Hall
or your appearance between Erie,Pa & Pittsburgh,Pa.
Live well,laugh often,love much.
