| I too am a huge fan of Maria Schneider (but then I only have to listen to the parts, not play them!). I saw the jazz orchestra 3 times last year & became a big fan of Ingrid Jensen's too.
Listen to the first movement of Three Romances (Three Romances:Part 1 Choro Dancado) on Days of Wine & Roses. It's my current favorite.
