| No, it's not worth it buying an old horn. So the next time you find a Conn 12b with the beautiful Coprion bell, just give me a call and I'll take the nasty thing off your hands so that you won't have to be found playing an ancient relic!
I'm an old relic so I don't mind playing the antiques. My regular horn is '47 Conn 22b. I had no intention of falling in love with this old horn with the rather rough finish. But the sound and response of the horn were so nice, and it projected that sound with this ringing quality that I was entranced with====so, the old horn stole my heart. Even my trumpet teacher, who's a professional and plays only Bachs, admits that I sound best on the old horn.
