| Guys,
I've purposefully stayed out of this discussion for the reasons illustrated above. Trumpet and mouthpiece choice are very personal issues and best solved by experimentation, not by following another player's advice.
I played the Brandenburg over a hundred times back in the 70s and 80s on a Schilke P54 and a very small mouthpiece that Ren Schilke made for me. Others thought that the mouthpiece was the secret to my success and when they tried it but bottomed out after 3 or 4 notes.
Cassone plays a rather deep replica of a Baroque (cup with a hole drilled in it -- no throat) mouthpiece on his nat and sounds like a flute.
Everyone should find his/her own way.
Cheers from sunny and HOT SoCal,
