I would really encourage you to stay with this horn for a while....but?????
Many players seem to have had some issues over the mouthpiece that you have chosen for your horn?
What one mouthpiece works sooooooooooooo beautifully on one instrument, FOR A FACT...doesn't always work out so well on another.
Go to
www.callet.com and check out what is said about choosing the right mouthpiece. E mail them...talk!!! Let them help you with a possible new choice,n'allthat jazz.
(bye the way...although I loved the Vintage One that I tried at kennelly keys for only about 1/2 hour.
I loved that horn with my Warburton 4vs with the #8 backbore...What a hammer! Dence, fat...but with some really nice PUNCH and projection in the upper register.
(Workmanship????Humm? This horn's laq. top coat not only had a few paint sag marks. The top coat was virtually missing behind the first valve and 3rd valve. It would seem that this horn must have missed the final inspection.
The valves were great...and well as the slide action.
ALL IN ALL...A REALLY FRIENDLY AND BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING INSTRUMENT.
