| I still say that the scores are a farce! During the past couple weeks they have been driven by politics. During the next couple days the big boys will put in that last special touch/change oping to put themselves over the top. Most corps make very few improvements/changes/redesigns during the two weeks prior to finals.
The score changes should have been in the 10ths of a point over the past week, with the big change coming at quarterfinals and semifinals. Those large changes at the last minute come because they actually make last minute changes to the drill, music, visual, or a combination of the three. Scores over the past few years have been artificially inflated to keep the interest of those of us who watch on line.
I don't care how many points a corps scores. I just care about the spread between two given corps and is that spread getting larger or smaller? That's the reason I scratch my head when a corps like SCV makes up 2 points on the field in 5 days. I won't say that it is impossible, I'll just say that a change in the spread that large is hard to understand.
