Get hold of some solo CDs and choose repertoire that appeals to you.
Read through some of the posts on here (and elsewhere) and if people are raving about a piece, take a look at it.
The way I discovered some repertoire was by looking through the bargain bins in music shops and just buying anything for solo trumpet. Some of it I have hardly touched since then, others have found themselves in my recital lists (Hohne
Slavische Fantasie is one of these). Looking through music catalogues can also be a great source of inspiration (June Emerson, Robert King, those sort of places) - although this can become very expensive
