| Believe this! I've been a guitar player for 30-something years and a lover/student of all kinds of music. A little over two years ago, I took my wife to see Sting play. Botti was on stage with him then. I was floored by the power and expression of the horn. I found him and we had a short chat after the show. I went home and started hunting/reading/ talking bout trumpets. I got a good horn and a teacher immediately. I've been seriously hooked since. I play way more trumpet than guitar these days, at least as far as 'hours' go. I'm still a working guitarist, at least part-time, and really looking forward to playing the trumpet out in public as well. I am very, very close. My teacher is very encouraging & appears quite puzzled at the progress I've been able to make in the span of 2 years; though I'm personally noticing the learning curve really start to flatten out. Hey, when you're pushing 50, you'd better make every day count! It's been a blast & I'm keeping at it, every day! Strange how things happen, huh? 'Splains why I often back-up Botti on threads that bash him too, I guess.
