| Someone, somewhere, recommended that if you have a case on which you can put a padlock (case, suitcase, whatever) that you just put one of those wire bundle ties (those plastic, locking things) on before you check the bag. That way you can at least tell if it's been opened by security. The problem is, if it hasn't been opened by anyone... and you aren't allowed to carry a "sharp object" with which to cut the plastic tie at destination, how the heck do you get the case open?
Those "universal padlocks" that airport security can open are available not only in the US but Canada as well. We used them on this summer's trip to Germany with no problems. |
