My shortlist- in addition to the previously mentioned artists:
Dennis Ferry-Suisse Romande
Marc Ullrich-Basel
Reinhold Friedrich-Frankfurt
Urban Agnas-was in Sweden-now teaches in Cologne
Frits Damrow-Concertgebouw
Matthias Höfs- Hamburg(also with German Brass)
There is a new very young solo trumpet player at the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Frankfurt who is AWESOME-Balázs Nemes

Classical Soloists
Niklas Eklund, Ed Tarr, Maurice André, Hakan Hardenberger, Michael Laird, Hermann Sauter, Friedemann Immer, Guy Touvron

This is just a list of the "spectacular" players that come immediately to mind. There are so many great players here that just "do their job" and unfortunately don't get the national or international press. I'm sure it is the same in America.
