The pictures on the link are to my friend's 1958 Schilke which I have played many times.
If you read the article (very short) you will see that your your serial number on your 57 Schilke will give you the date of the horn.

Old man Schilke who was probably the nices guy I ever met, pointed that out to me when he saw my horn while we both were in Interlochen Music camp. He told me that he made it in his basement and would like to have it back. He was willing to trade a new horn for it, in fact.
The number of the horn is 3857. Correct me if I am wrong for I keep getting the dates mixed up between the American system and the European system; so, I think the horn was made in March 8, 1957.
