Can't believe it's was 22 years ago when I first saw the man at the 1984 Grammy Awards on national television.
His performance that evening brought me joy and happiness and reflection on words written by Jack Kerouac in his book "On the Road" .........

On this your birthday,I plea with you to ignore your detractors as most of them believe that Lawrence Welk was a great band-leader.
