| Joe Murphy is my band director. I happened to be the first trumpet player to play one. I use the LM-77 for concert band with my California Light. I use the LM-86 for marching and jazz on my Strad.
My background is a player who has NEVER been able to play a shallow, small mouthpiece. I had settled on the ZeuS Aegis piece as the all-around piece for me until I started on LOUD. Prior to that, I played Kanstul M-B9, Laskey 68MD, Bach 5B, Bach 5C.
The LM-86 is the most comfortable "small" piece I have ever played. not saying much, but at least I can PLAY the darned thing!
...If you have small lips, are used to small mouthpieces, and happen to be looking for a screamer piece, I would be interested in the "Maynard" model. a FUNNEL cup that started at the rim! Not yet offered officially, but I woudl definitely ask about it.
