I am so pleased that we finally got to meet! Our afternoon together was a true highlight of my trip. I have to tell you that I was somewhat “star struck” and wasn’t thinking quite as well as I should have. I had planned ahead and brought a copy of the
Espressivo, Music and Life at Marlboro book that I purchased several months ago (
with the picture of you and Louis Opalesky and Henry Nowak (Marlboro Trumpet Section)). I even stopped at the drug store to pick up a pen for you to sign my book. Then not only did I forget to have you sign my book, I completely forgot to take a picture of us together! I was so frustrated when I realized what I had done I rushed out of Avery Fisher hall to try and find you, but you were already gone!
The best laid plans….
I will post more “positive” stories a little bit later, but I just wanted to tell you how much it meant to me to get to spend time with you and enjoy your company.
