Ive played it on D and on natural trumpet.... natty is the best way to go... really blended well with the sackbutts.... however, if youre playing with modern trombones, use the C or D.... Bb is a good option soundwise for traditional sound as ^ said (models closely to the old horns made back in the day) , but i think with modern instruments the D would be best.
