| To be clear Albert, I think the sound of a large bell on a D or Eb trumpet can be very good. My larger Schilke bells for my E3L are quite large, and have an almost cornet shape to the flare. But the high G's (D trumpet) or F#'s (Eb trumpet) better be low enough! On my E3L I definitely can play these notes in tune, but they want to ride high, and keeping the pitch down is more work on a piece (beethoven 7) with an already substantial work load. |
