| bells and backbores I'm lucky enough to own an eclipse LR trumpet. I bought this horn over a year ago and it seemed like the right choice. My playing has improved a lot over the intervening time (cos i can't put the horn down!) and when I went back to get a flugel horn I tried some of the other horns ( as you do) including the MR, which I found was a much easier blow with a more secure upper register. At the moment I use a warburton #4 (tight) backbore with the LR to give a bit of resistance but I'm thinking of switching to a MR and using a larger backbore.
Am i making a good choice here, any views from those who know more about this than me would be welcome.
