I have to politely disagree with you there B15. I have two identical mouthpieces - one in silver and one in gold - and there is a big difference in the way the two feel when I play them. Also, I have been playing gold rims forever. I have quite a few in the mouthpiece graveyard with gold rims and silver bodies and most of my horns have been silver, so coordinating my brass wardrobe was never part of the equation. |
Some people are not sensitive to either and it seems to be the case with you. I, on the other hand, happen to be very sensitive to the difference. To a point, it is a personal thing.
