Yet another new addition

After only being back playing for a few months my horn collection has grown again. I saw a deal for a pro tec double case with a horn/mpc I couldn't pass up.

The horn is a 1953 Blessing Standard that came with a Mt Vernon 17c2 mouthpiece.

After a good bath the horn plays nicely but the valves have a different feel than I'm used to.

My 7yr old has already taken to the horn and wants to learn on it. Seems like a solid enough horn to start with. I'm sure a band director will hate it with no first or third valve rings :)

Is this a good horn for him to start on?
