| I don't think it's available any more but there was a recording on the Polyphonic label, highlights from the gala concert of the 1987 National Brass Band Championships (UK), and Rod Franks plays the Arutunian accompanied by the Brighouse and Rastrick brass band in an arrangement (of the orchestral accompaniment) made by Michael Antrobus. The band struggle somewhat in places but Rod Franks' playing is superb. Sumptuously lyrical when required and passionately powerful elsewhere with excellent phrasing throughout. Timofei Docschizer's account is awesome, but bearing in mind the recording I've mentioned is from a live concert, Rod Franks is up there for me, even if a brass band accompaniment is not your cup of tea.
