| Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY Here's one I picked up within the last year or so... It was in an antique shop (a junk store, really) just as you see it here!!! I picked it up and everything moved and it played. That's the original mouthpiece (BIG) and pigtail crook. The horn is by Cerveny, a maker currently best known for tubas. In this form, it plays in modern e-natural, but I've had a leadpipe made which gives me modern f and, with both, modern e-flat. I've performed the F.D. Weber Variations in F with piano on it. (I hope Ed Tarr would be proud!)
Anyone have a guess on the age? My uneducated guess would be around 1885 or so...
