Today I watched a DVD of Harry Connick Jr. I have to admit I have not really followed his music other then on the radio when it comes on. Anyway, I came away with two observations. 1. On this DVD, there was a real empowerment of the entire band. It appeared that they all had a great playing relationship and he honored them throughout the show. He knew all their names, he praised their playing, had them come out for featured solos and had fun interacting with them. It was obvious that the arrangements were designed to showcase not only his talent, but the talent of his band. I was impressed by this! 2. I was facsinated with was the Electronic Music Display System they all used. I am going to start another thread on this topic as I would love to hear if anyone has had experience with paperless electronic music systems. I did some research and it turns out it is a technology he has a patent on! Two companies that I am familiar with for our church band application ( I am a worship pastor) is e-stand and freehand. Apparently this is his own design. Anway, I enjoyed the DVD.
