Most people that work another full time job only have so much time to devote to trumpet practice. My suggestion is to figure out what you can realistically do on a daily basis and then accept how far that gets you. Just take those gigs that are compatible with where you are with skill and endurance. Why suffer trying to do something that doesn't fit with the time you're willing to devote to playing?
