I kind of like the AP4 for certain performances. My normal sound preference for picc is to be a bit darker because I most often perform as a soloist. However, when playing with a large group such as a choir for the Hallelujah Chorus, I need a little more edge. The AP4 does that very nicely. Many people will prefer that brighter sound all of the time. I find it very easy to play on a Schilke P5-4.
