Re: Stage 1 Trumpets...Help? I'm thinking about getting one.

I ordered a Stage 1 California as my main horn. Talking to Felix is the best advice, he is one of the best trumpet guys around. I am getting a Stage 1 Cal. with two slides, one round and one squared, with a sterling silver lead pipe and copper bell. The bell will be close to 5" (little bigger than standard). Never had a copper horn so we'll see how it works out.

I also play in a wide variety of genres. From Lead to chamber music, and after consulting with Felix and playing his horns extensivley for about a week it was an easy decision to make. I did a review of his horn in the "horns" forum.

I also liked the looks of the NY Stage 1, and also how it played, but something about the Calif. is special. When I hit the lottery I'll go ahead and get one of each.

IMO Felix's horns are going to make a fast name for themselves as one of the best. Give him a call or an email and I am sure he will help you out.
