| Getzen and Edwards
I have made a similar post to this on other sites in the past. In fact, the topic is what got me into the whole forum game in the first place. Anyway, after reading some posts on here I figure it was time to clear things up a bit.
Getzen and Edwards are one in the same. I have heard players from all over make comments like "Getzen bought out Edwards" or "Getzen builds horns for Edwards" or even "Getzen is copying Edwards". All of those things are wrong. Getzen and Edwards are really one in the same. Simply put, Edwards is a part of Getzen. Not even really a division. More like another line. I also make the comparisson of our situation to that of Cadillac and Chevy. Just like both of those are part of GM, Edwards is a part of Getzen.
Getzen Custom Series are built by the same people that build Edwards (trumpets and trombones). Just like Cadillac, Edwards has more intricate designs with more options. And just like Cadillac to Chevy, their advancements and design cues make their way into the Getzen line. In the case of trombones, many players that cannot afford an Edwards find what they're looking for in the Getzen line.
I know this is a minor thing. I just wanted to get it out there to clear up the confusion that is around.
