Re: Searching for a new Piccolo Mouthpiece

The S cup is more C shaped, and the SV more of a V cup. The S should allow for more "Taah" in the articulation, the SV more "Daah" and a little freeer airflow. I liked the sound better on the S (but nearly not as well as Curry's Z with his Monstersleeve), but used trumpet shanks. Warburton should be able to make some good suggestions for a backbore on the cornet shank. Generally, wide open backbores are the conventional reccomendations.

Kanstul's website has some nifty tools for looking at cup shapes. Check them out!
