Aside from the common process of manufacturing, it would be interesting to know just how much Renold Schilke contributed to the Yamaha line of trumpets and how much they came up with on their own.
Again, thanks for posting the link. | We will never know for sure how much Schilke gave Yamaha. Probably doesn't matter anyway. They had their masters also trained in Germany at the music instrument institute in Ludwigsburg, so they have the best of everything the world has to offer. Back in the 80's there were several common features, but I don't see anything similar except the mouthpiece size designation anymore.
