Re: King 2070CSP "Legend" C Trumpet

I play on a King Legend Bb, bought it in eighth grade. I was probably going more by FEEL than by SOUND. The Kings, in general, tend to sound a little bright for my taste. The reverse leadpipe on the Legend makes the blow a little more open than most standard leadpipe Bachs. They're decent jazz horns, but to be totally honest I can't WAIT to replace my Bb with something darker. The intonation isn't spectacular either. If you like the way your 37 sounds, I wouldn't recommend a King, especially not for a C. Looking back now, I wish that I had waited a little longer or gotten more input from my teacher before I bought my first pro horn.

My suggestion: Go to Dillon's and look around. Try a variety of brands, and bring someone with you if you can. A second set of ears can be really helpful for choosing equipment.
