| What do you think about when playing? Phil Munds (principal horn, BSO) asked me this yesterday and when I said "oh, I think about the structure, the line, where I'm going with the music" he said that he doesn't think about anything but the breath and how much it calms him. Through a process of non-analysis and just observing what is going on from a distance, he got me to play so much better.
So, what do you think about how to achieve this state of "distant oberservation" over "constant analysis"?
