I remember having no electricity here in Phoenix in August one year. It was 112 outside and we sat inside watching the indoor temps slowly rise from 72, 73, 74... and I thought what did people do in Phx BEFORE A/C?...
Makes us realize how dependent we've become on so many "luxuries of life". Some would say electricity is not a luxury but a necessity... and it's hard to argue with that... but somehow society survived without it for a long time... and many still do in 3rd world countries. We are all getting so "soft"...
