Hello all - I was invited here by the admin of TrumpetMaster after he found the Rudy Muck Information site I started last month.
To introduce myself, I am an avid collector, buyer, seller and brass repair/restorer having a one-person shop that deals mainly with internet customers. I also play a little.
I played all through school both trumpet and baritone and enjoyed some success in my junior year but had to drop out of band in my senior year to work. I was able to continue playing in the local drum & bugle corps for a couple of years. I didn't play again until the military when I played in D&B in bootcamp ( sure beat running drills and KP duty ).
Then I laid off for 30 years or so and decided to look for a horn to play on. My daughter had gotten my Martin Handcraft Dansant and wouldn't give it back so I had to go out and buy one and I started doing Ebay and other auction sites. I found a Dansant but along the way I found many others and now have way too many horns.
A few years back I met a custom horn maker who lives nearby and he showed me some of his skills so I bought tools and an ultrasonic machine and started working on horns -- mainly for students and myself. I started donating horns to the local school because they needed some for kids who couldn't afford horns ( that's how I got the Martin way back when ) and we started selling more and more. Well, now we have a nice business although it takes a lot more time than I thought.
Well, enough for me -- glad to join and hope to find time to visit more. If you get a chance, check out one of my new obsessions, the Rudy Muck site here:
Wow, I really like how this site works by the way -- great job Admin!
