Actually, "City of Angels" was a blast. Too bad is was "too hip for the room". Also, "West Side Story" is certainly a masterpiece, and there's some hauntingly beautiful stuff in "Sweeney Todd" (never played it, just heard it). I'd also add "Little Women" to the mix. (We used to call it "Little Known" due to it's abnormally short run.) It's a small, chamber-like score (composed by Jason Howland) with all ACOUSTIC instruments, beautifully orchestrated by Kim Scharnberg.
