When I was taking my introductory training as a new engineering grad at Pratt & Whitney the field service guy teaching us how to tear a PT6 apart was the guy who helped Andy Granatelli with his effort in 1967. Parnelli Jones led 197 laps of the 200 lap race before a bearing failed. USAC banned the car the next year for fear that it would throw competition out the window. |
