I had a raw brass B5 that I played for about a year or so. Copper bell, very nice horn. I ended up selling it because it didn't put out as big a sound as I'd like in big band settings, the bell flare was somewhat narrow. A beautiful focused sound. Just because I eventually got rid of it doesn't meant it wasn't an excellent horn-- using that criteria just about every trumpet would be bad because I tend to run through a lot of different horns (for the fun of it). You've really got to watcth the copper bell because its soft, easy to ping. Top notch horns, I'd love try the flugel some day.
