Re: Vintage Conn

I have a 26 26-B that someone had apparently (?) cut the end of the leadpipe off of. I put a Pilzcuk (sp?) leadpipe on and it plays with a very nice tone. However, it is a bit stuffy, which in combination with the raspy sounds the valves make leads me to think it might need a valve job. The tuning slide has the knob to switch between Bb and A. The intonation is very good, it does better without the first valve saddle than most modern horns do with it. Right now its my backup Bb. It is interesting, but due to the stuffiness kind of hard to play.
