Hi Mark,

In addition to the commonly played etudes by Bitsch I have 2 volumes of etudes by H. Duhem (Belgian/French) that I've always liked. I'm also using some of Pierre Thibaud's exercises in my classes at McGill and CalArts.

My closet is filled with Russian and Bulgarian etudes that I picked up while giving masterclasses in those countries. We reach a point that we have more materials than need, really...

Tell us about the Ballay and Chavanne etudes?
